Birdsong (Jefferson J.) Plantation journal 1836-1859 [microform].

The journal has some entries relating to the mercantile business and personal business affairs, but mainly deals with the day to day operation of the plantation. Almost daily accounts of weather, chores, crops, social events, and household happenings are given. Birdsong was interested in politics, and there are numerous references to the American Party in the entries made in 1855, 1856, and 1857.
